Current Geriatric Education Center of Michigan objectives include: Develop 8 regional community training teams throughout Michigan by providing 40 hours of comprehensive geriatric training to each of these interdisciplinary teams utilizing multiple educational modalities Support the 8 regional training teams in the delivery of geriatrics training to healthcare professionals in their respective communities Provide training in geriatrics, team building and continuous quality improvement to interdisciplinary providers and staff in the V.A. Medical Centers in VISN 11, including outpatient clinics, inpatient and geropsychiatry units Develop and deliver a 25-hour interdisciplinary geriatric health literacy program emphasizing the training/retraining of health professions faculty from the public four-year universities throughout Michigan Deliver CME/CE approved educational offerings to disseminate interdisciplinary geriatric and gerontological training information to health professions students, faculty and providers throughout Michigan Provide geriatrics clinical training to students in health professions schools at Michigan State University
